In a heartwarming display of community service, the Free Eye Surgery and Eye Checkup Camp was recently held at Asisi Hospital, Thalavadi conducted by Erode Sakthi Arima Sangam, in collaboration with Mr. GD Sekar, Chairman of Dhamu Chettiar Nagai Maaligai, Asisi Hospital, and Kovai Aravind Eye Hospital. This initiative, driven by a commitment to provide essential eye care services, brought hope and relief to countless individuals.

The camp was made possible by the generous sponsorship of Mr. GD Sekar, Chairman of the Dhamu Chettiar Nagai Maaligai. His unwavering support and dedication to community welfare ensured that the camp could offer comprehensive services, from basic eye checkups to complex surgeries. This initiative underscores Mr. Sekar’s commitment to improving the quality of life for those in need.

Asisi Hospital served as the perfect venue for this noble cause. Its state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated medical staff were instrumental in delivering high-quality care to all attendees. The hospital buzzed with activity as people from various walks of life came to benefit from the free services provided.

The camp was conducted by the Erode Sakthi Arima Sangam and the Dhamu Chettiar Nagai Maaligai, two organizations renowned for their philanthropic efforts. Over the past three years, 2681 individuals have had eye checkups, and 1007 have undergone eye surgeries. Their collaboration ensured that the camp was not only well-organized but also highly effective in reaching a wide audience. The seamless coordination between these organizations showcased their expertise in handling large-scale community service events.

The camp is scheduled to be held on the last Saturday of each month, with upcoming dates on 25th May 2024 and 29th June 2024. The camp ran from 9:00am to 1:00pm and all services including medicine, food & accommodation, and travel expenses were provided free of cost, ensuring that all patients received the care they needed. This regular schedule allows for consistent access to eye care services for the community, ensuring that no one is left behind.
